General Contest Rules

Unless otherwise specified, these rules apply to all contests, promotions, and giveaways conducted by Camarillo Community Radio, whether on-air, online, or in-person.**

ELIGIBILITY

1. Residency Requirements: To be eligible to win a prize, you must be a legal resident of the United States and reside within the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, or the District of Columbia. If the prize is event-based, you must also be able to travel to the event location at your own expense.

2. Age Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old to win any prize valued at over $100. For contests with prizes valued under $100, the minimum age is 13. Minors must have parental or guardian consent to participate.

3. Employee Exclusions: Current employees and volunteers of Camarillo Community Radio, as well as their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren) and household members, are not eligible to participate in any contest.

4. Frequency Limitation: Unless otherwise specified in the specific contest rules, a person may not win more than one prize from Camarillo Community Radio contests in a 30-day period.

5. Additional Restrictions: Winners must be able to receive prizes within the United States. Void where prohibited by law.

HOW TO ENTER

1. Entry Methods: Contest entry may be completed by phone during designated call-in periods, through the official Camarillo Community Radio website at https://camaradio.org, by mail to the station address, or in person at designated locations as specified for each contest.

2. Entry Period: All entries must be submitted during the specified contest period announced on-air and/or posted online. Entries submitted before or after the official contest period will not be considered.

3. Information Requirements: Entrants must provide complete, valid, and truthful contact information including full name, complete address, phone number, and email address (if applicable). Camarillo Community Radio reserves the right to verify eligibility and disqualify any entry with false, incomplete, or misleading information.

4. Entry Limits: Unless otherwise specified, limit one entry per person per contest. Multiple entries from the same person may result in disqualification.

WINNER SELECTION

1.Selection Method: Winners will be selected through a random drawing from all eligible entries received during the contest period. The method of selection (random number generator, physical drawing, etc.) will be determined by Camarillo Community Radio in its sole discretion.

2. Odds of Winning: The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received for each contest.

3. Winner Notification: The selected winner will be contacted by phone and/or email within two (2) business days of the drawing. Winners must respond within the time specified (typically 48-72 hours) to claim their prize. If the winner cannot be reached after reasonable attempts, or if they are found to be ineligible, or if they fail to respond within the specified time, an alternate winner may be selected.

4. Verification: Winners may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within the timeframe specified by Camarillo Community Radio.

PRIZES

1. Prize Restrictions: Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other items. No substitutions are permitted except by Camarillo Community Radio, which reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

2. Prize Claim Period: All prizes must be claimed within ten (10) business days of winner notification, unless otherwise specified in the contest rules. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner.

3. Tax Responsibility: Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on prizes. Camarillo Community Radio will provide IRS Form 1099 for prizes valued at $600 or more, and winners may be required to complete IRS Form W-9.

4. Prize Delivery: Camarillo Community Radio is not responsible for any prize that is lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed after it has been claimed by the winner. Prize pickup or delivery arrangements will be specified for each contest.

5. Event-Based Prizes: For event tickets or experiences, winners must be available on the specified dates and able to attend at the designated location. Travel, lodging, meals, and other expenses are the winner’s responsibility unless specifically included in the prize description.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Agreement to Rules: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Camarillo Community Radio, which are final and binding in all respects.

2. Disqualification: Camarillo Community Radio reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who:
– Violates these rules or any specific contest rules
– Provides false information
– Tampers with the entry process or contest operation
– Acts in an unsportsmanlike, disruptive, or inappropriate manner
– Attempts to undermine the legitimate operation of the contest

3. Publicity Rights: By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of their name, voice, likeness, and biographical information by Camarillo Community Radio for promotional and advertising purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

4. Limitation of Liability: By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Camarillo Community Radio, its licensee, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, damages, or causes of action  with respect to or arising out of participation in the contest or the acceptance, possession, or use of any prize.

5. Rule Modifications: These rules may be modified at any time. Current rules are available at the station and on the official website. Check regularly for updates.

6. FCC Compliance: This contest is conducted in accordance with FCC rules and regulations. Material terms of all contests will be disclosed on-air during contest announcements and are also available on our website and at the station.

7. No Purchase Necessary: No purchase, payment, or donation is necessary to enter or win. Making a donation to Camarillo Community Radio will not improve your chances of winning.

8. Governing Law: These rules and the contest are governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States of America.
