Listener Supported Community Radio in Ventura County from Camarillo

Listen for…

Van Camp & Morgan

Van Camp And Morgan logo

Van Camp and Morgan are genuinely us. They’re navigating the same chaotic, slightly-behind-on-bills life right here in Ventura County. They get the real struggles – the baffling gas prices, the endless quest for decent, affordable Mexican food, and why “the grade” is a daily existential crisis.  Mornings 6am-10am

Evenings with Eve

Evenings with Eve

Romance author Eve Corso has been a music store regular since the cassette age, practically leaving a trail of change to fund her vinyl habit. She’s still out there, tirelessly hunting for that perfect song, its backstory, and anything new – basically, she’s a musical archaeologist with a serious shopping addiction. All that dedication means you get an hour of hand-picked tunes and stories for your drive home. She calls it “storytelling”; we call it “Eve’s glorious obsession.” Weeknights at 6pm

The Knuckleheads

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Camarillo Community Radio (Camaradio) Officially Launches on 101.3 FM  Bringing Local Voices to the Airwaves

CAMARILLO, CA – July 11, 2025 – Camarillo Community Radio (Camaradio) proudly announces its official launch, now broadcasting as a dedicated nonprofit, volunteer-run station serving Camarillo and surrounding communities. Camaradio is committed to providing a unique platform for local news, diverse voices, and independent programming, fostering stronger connections within the Ventura County region.

As a community-focused organization, Camaradio aims to fill a vital void in local media by offering relevant information, emergency preparedness updates, and showcasing the rich talent and stories of its residents. Unlike commercial stations, Camaradio operates without traditional advertising, ensuring its content remains solely focused on community benefit.

“We are incredibly excited to bring Camaradio to life,” said Barry Funkhouser, a founding board member. “This station is truly a labor of love, built by and for our community. In an era where local voices can easily get lost, Camaradio provides an essential platform for connection, information, and entertainment that reflects our fresh Camarillo vibe.”

As a nonprofit entity, Camaradio relies entirely on the generous support of its listeners and local businesses to cover essential operational and technical costs. The station is actively seeking community involvement through various support avenues:

  • Donate: Individual contributions are vital to sustaining daily operations, programming, and technical infrastructure. Every dollar directly supports the station’s mission to serve the community. Donations can be made securely online at camaradio.org.
  • Sponsor: Local businesses and organizations can become station sponsors, gaining recognition and alignment with a valued community resource. Sponsorship offers a unique opportunity to reach engaged local listeners in a non-commercial environment. Interested parties can learn more by contacting hello@camaradio.org or 833-346-4626.
  • Underwrite: Underwriting opportunities allow businesses and individuals to support specific programs or blocks of programming, receiving on-air acknowledgments for their contributions. This is a powerful way to demonstrate community commitment and gain exposure. Details are available on the station’s website.

Camaradio invites all residents to tune in at 101.3 FM and experience the power of truly local radio. Your support ensures the continuous growth and impact of this essential community asset.
